The PD1 is a discrete, no holes in your bumper, Electromagnetic parking sensor system. Compatible with any car, vehicle, 4x4, van, motorhome, or caravan with plastic bumpers, PD1 will sense any object, person or car located behind your vehicle, and will provide you with an early warning alert system to protect your vehicle from bumps, scrapes & expensive collisions. Designed for people with bike racks, low mounted spare tyres or other obstables which may otherwise cause false alerts for ultrasonic sensor systems. How PD1 Works When reverse gear is engaged the system provides an instant, automatic, self-diagnostic function that maps out the surrounding area of your bumper constantly monitoring this as you reverse with 100% accuracy, providing you with 3 different audible tones Zones) alerting you of your proximity in relation to surrounding objects!
The PD1, as an electromagnetic system, works differently to the more traditional ultrasonic sensors, in that if you stop moving the system will stop giving you alerts. This is because its monitoring changes in the terrain behind you, and when you stop, the terrain stops changing. When you start reversing further again, the alerts pick up from where they left off.
